Title: The study of damping of Reversed Shear Alfvén Eigenmode
Abstract: Shear Alfvén waves may exist in tokamak plasmas as eigenmodes with a global structure and discrete frequencies[1]. The Reversed Shear Alfvén eigenmode (RSAE), as one of the most important Shear Alfven Eigenmodes (SAE), presents very useful in MHD spectroscopy. RSAE is localized deep in the plasma core in reversed magnetic shear configurations, and its mode frequency may significantly sweep up near TAE range when the minimum in q-profile drop in time[2]. This report will summarize basically the theory and experiments study of in RSAEs with focus on the radiative damping of RSAE. Numerical results of KAEC code as well its reduced Kinetic MHD model are introduced. The damping rates calculated turns to be consistent with analytic expectation.
