Abstract: Title:Localized control of Drift-wave Turbulence
Speaker: Panpan Liu
Abstract:Pinning control with inhomogeneous control strength which we call mode control is adopted to regulate 2D drift wave turbulence into spatiotemporal patterns. It is showed numerically that the control efficiency is depend on the property of the control mode. What's more, the physical mechanism is investigated by using the network model which describe the interaction of drift mode and control mode. The findings are Preliminary work of studying the localized control and then the new control techniques for real world turbulence.
Title:Introduction to resistive wall mode
Speaker: Sheng Wang
Abstract: External MHD modes (e.g. external kink) stabilized by the presence of a close-fitting perfectly conducting wall become destabilized when the wall is asumed to possess finite resistivity. In this seminar, a rough introduction to resistive wall mode (RWM) is given, relating to the ideal system with and without a perfectly conducing wall, through energy principle. Few about the stabilization of RWM are also presented.
