Abstract:
1. Essential geometric effects, which is shown to important, is discussed for local and global ballooning mode.
2. For kinetic ballooning mode, it's found that the linear mode structure may not peak at a constant poloidal angle.
3. The nonlinear saturation may also be different from the usual saturation picture. The nonlinear growth rate can be larger than the linear growth rate. It is also discovered that the linear mode structure may reappear during the later nonlinear stage when KBM turbulence evolves.
