Title:Influence of toroidal rotation on resistive tearing mode in tokamaks
Abstract:Influence of toroidal equilibrium plasma rotation on m/n=2/1 resistive tearing mode is studied using a 3D toroidal MHD code (CLTC). it is found that for low beta low viscosity plasma, toroidal rotation may decrease the linear growth rate of resistive tearing mode even without shear; while the rotation shear seems to reduce this stabilizing efect when rotation becomes strong. A brief review of development and benchmarks of the code is also included.
