Title:Stellarator Optimization from Designing 3-D Coils
Abstract:Brief Introduction of Stellarators, Stellarator Optimization and Design of W7-X Stellarator. Absolutely symmetry of magnetic field grantees good particle confinement. However, perfect symmetry is impossible in stellarator but quasi-symmetry on magnetic field spectrum is possible. Quasi-symmetry and its classification will be expounded briefly. Optimization from 3-D coils is proved to be effective. The Boozer coordinates transform in vacuum and Levenberg–Marquardt algorithm was used in the optimization code. Optimization of CNT-like configuration with quasi-axisymmetry is performed and some interesting construction of the magnetic flux surface will be shown.
