Time: Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2:00 pm Venue: Rm. 413, Bld. 11#, Yuquan Campus Speaker 1: Yihao Duan Title: Dissipative trapped electron mode (DTEM) simulation Abstract: The gyrokinetic simulation using the Gyrokinetic Toroidal Code (GTC) is carried out for the dissipative trapped electron mode (DTEM), which is an important source for the electrostatic turbulence in the pedestal of tokamak plasmas. We introduce the theoretical model briefly, the numerical method of GTC is discussed in details. The result of simulation suggests that the DTEM instability exists with edge parameters, its mode structure, growth rate and frequency are presented. Speaker 2: Chiyu Wang Title: Investigation and Primary Design of Laser Induced Fluorescence (LIF) Abstract: In the tokamak, the neutral particles play an important role at the edge of the plasma. Meanwhile, they have an impact on the core region. LIF is a kind of non-contact diagnostic to determine the parameters of the neutral particles, which is widely used in the linear machine. In this report, the basic principles and primary structure design of the LIF have been introduced.
