Title: Microwave Reflectometry on ZPED
Abstract:
The reflectometry technique measures the phase of a wave reflected by a plasma cut-off layer. The determination of the density profile can be achieved using continuously sweeping the frequency of the probing wave. Up to now, Microwave Reflectometry (MR) has been wildly used in tokamaks to investigate important physical issues based on its advanced points, such as high spatial resolutions, high temporal resolutions, local measurements and non-embedded, and provide qualitative and quantitative measurements on density profiles and density fluctuations. Thus, the reflectometry is also suitable in ITER for the plasma position and shape feedback control. Doppler reflectometry has been traditionally devoted to density fluctuation measurements. Basic principle of the fluctuation measurements has been used to provide the radial evolution of the density fluctuations by changing the frequency step by step and looking at the time variation of the phase.
Microwave reflectometry principle, development history, hardware system, calculate program and suitable physics will be presented in this talk, specially, microwave reflectometry development in our Lab.
