Abstract: Based on Lecture 2 given by Fulvio Zonca, May 6th, 2010, IFTS-ZJU, Hangzhou. Involving: concept of phase mixing; linear and nonlinear beam, theoretical and numerical and experimental; nonlinear Landau damping. There will be more emphasis on the physical picture rather than mathematical calculation.
