Abstract:
Hydromagnetic waves and their kinetic versions (i.e. KAW, IAW, and so on) have been studied for a long time since Alfven1942. However, up to now, no work has considered the dispersion relation via gyro-kinetic in detailed for general plasma, i.e., anisotropic (or, arbitrary distribution function), arbitrary wavelength, arbitrary beta (plasma beta), both electrons and ions (or, arbitrary kinds of species). The work here gets a general dispersion relation for hydromagnetic waves and instabilities to meet that desire, which is a balance between the trivial fluid treatment and the cumbersome full-kinetic treatment, retains finite Larmor radii and wave-particle interaction, but only suit for the waves with k_para<
