Title:Upgrade of CLT code & Its preliminary simulations for Resonant Magnetic Perturbation in EAST Tokamak
Abstract:The magnetohydrodynamics code (CLT) has been upgraded recently, including for the new boundary handling method, the updated parallelization scheme, adding module of Resonant Magnetic Perturbation(RMP) coils for EAST Tokamak and etc. The linear benchmark between CLT and MARS-F code for the plasma response to EAST RMP has been done for the ELM mitigation shot #52340. And a set of simulations studying the mode penetration have been carried out preliminarily, based on single fluid scheme. We found that RMP with coexistence of multiple modes is more easily to penetrate and produce tearing response at rational surfaces, while that with single mode is more likely to been screened by the plasma response. The penetration differences between the single and multiple modes are still under study, which may be due to the generation of adjacent modes induced by the toroidal effect, at present. Besides, the RMP active control of tearing mode with the phase detection has been successfully achieved based on the principle of multiple modes penetration.
