Topic1: Solving 2D Poission equation with multigrid method

Abstract: Poisson equation is often used in plasma simulation. Solving Poisson equation effectively is necessary for plasma researcher. A multigrid method which is thought to be robust and efficient is introduced to solve 2D Poisson equation with Dirichlet boundary condition in this lecture. Main algorithm is described in a concise and comprehensive way, then several specific cases are showed to demonstrate the applicability of the code based on this method.

Topic2: Numerical studies for linear and nonlinear evolution of resistive wall mode in a slab model

Abstract: The resistive wall mode are studied numerically in a slab geometry with and without plasma flow. The linear and nonlinear growth of the mode are investigated with different parameters in numerical simulations. The linear growth rate decreases as the value of the flow velocity increases. When the value of the flow velocity is sufficient, the mode can be nearly stabilized, where is a poloidal (toroidal) mode number.
