报告题目:MEASUREMENTS OF POLARIZATIONS OF DRIFT-ALFVEN WAVES IN MAGENETICALLY CONFINED FUSION PLASMAS

摘要:Drift-acoustic wave and shear Alfven wave are two fundamental electromagnetic fluctuations in magnetized plasmas. They both play crucial roles in the dynamics and transports of various components of plasmas. In fusion devices; such as tokamaks, these two waves are coupled and , up to now, there has not been a reliable technique to determine the relative polarizations of the observed fluctuations. In this work, we have, based on the gyrokinetic theory and using electron density and temperature measurements, developed a novel and widely applicable method to determine the drift-Alfven wave polarization. This technique is then applied to the DIII-D device and provides , for the first time, drift-Alfven wave polarization measurements in a tokamak device.
