报告题目:Physics of Kinetic Alfven Waves: History and Progresses

Kinetic Alfvén wave(KAW)corresponds to Shear Alfvén wave with,however,perpendicular scale length in the order of Larmor radius. Due to the enhanced electron-ion decoupling, KAW has, typically, a significant component of electric field parallel to the confining magnetic field. KAWs, thus, play crucial roles in the heating, acceleration and transport of magnetized plasmas in both space and laboratories. In this talk, I will review the discovery of KAW a half century ago, the progresses in understanding its linear and nonlinear physics,as well as its current applications in tokamak fusion plasmas.
